Ganesh Chaturthi

Ganesha is also known as Ganapati, Vigneswara, Vinayaka, Gajamukha and Ainkaran. The Ganesha Chaturthi Festival is also known as 'Vinayak Chaturthi' or 'Vinayaka Chavithi. It  is celebrated by Hindus around the world as the birthday of Lord Ganesha. It is observed during the Hindu month of Bhadra (mid-August to mid-September) 
Just as all good things are begun with a prayer to Lord Ganesha, the destroyer of obstacles and the source of good luck,  I would first of all like to share with you all the upcoming Ganesha Chaturthi Festival recipes


Ganesh Charuthi Special Neivedyam Recipes:

  1. Paruppu Payasam
  2. Kozhakkattais (Modakam)
  3. Medhu Vadai (Urad dhal vadai)
  4. Neyy Appam
  5. Konda kadalai Sundal (Chick pea sundal)
Along with this a special lunch of parupu, sambhar, rasam, curry, pachadi, appalam are usually prepared. Most of these varieties are mentioned in our Main Course post.
